The Early Bird Gets The Shot
Or a seat in Group A! I was recently invited to photograph the newly renovated Southwest wing at the Los Angeles International Airport, better known as LAX. I could not pass up this opportunity because Southwest not only gives me two free checked bags but they offer direct flights right to my heart. So when Pierce, Goodwin, Alexander & Linville, or PGAL, gave me a call, all systems were go.The hustle and bustle of an airport brings some unique challenges to a photoshoot. People are constantly rushing through trying to get to their destinations on time. Dressed anywhere from full business attire to a full on sweat suit prime for napping, the people in an airport come from all walks of life! But if you wait twenty minutes, you most likely have a whole new group to work with. Thanks to this reconstruction of the 30 year old Terminal 1 the entire process has been revamped. Passengers will come to find more streamlined experience with automated checked baggage stations, shorter TSA lines, and an overall better experience. The updated baggage claim carousels will make getting your luggage that much easier. With large monitors the carousels inform which flights are actively sending luggage and which are about to. The chairs are comfy too!The new terminal has a big, airy feel to it. The ceiling keeps going up and the large diagonal windows offer the corridor an abundance of light. With such an open space, traveling with lots of bags becomes a breeze. And as someone with lots of gear to push through the terminal, I and my back are really appreciative of this!
