Bring Your Board to Work
When Gensler called us to photograph the new Omnicom Group offices in Playa Vista, we knew our images of this stylish space needed to reflect its elevated design status. We crafted each shot to highlight the clean lines, varied levels of transparency and interesting textures created by the Gensler design team.
Back to (Business) School
Back to school takes on a whole new meaning when you’re attending one of the most prestigious business schools in the country. At UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, students are returning to a beautiful new expansion to their campus. The 80,000 sq ft addition, designed by LMN Architects and Carrier Johnson + Culture, seamlessly interconnects spaces — existing and new, outdoor and indoor, meditative and collaborative. I had the pleasure of photographing this impressive space for the architects, construction firm, and the school itself!
Where Are All The Students?
Where are all the students? Bam! One-by-one the students start lining up in front of the entrance to the Parkside CSU Long Beach Dining Hall. An influx of people, eager to eat. Get ready — it's time to shoot!
A Library with No Books
The new library at Harbor College, designed by DLR Group Architects, is one such modern library, with more computers than books. We were brought in to capture the social atmosphere of the building’s numerous computer labs, group meeting spaces, and quiet study zones.
Living the Life Aquatic
I stumbled across the recently-renovated Aquatics Center while scouting another project I was getting ready shoot at USC, and learned that it was designed by one of my favorite firms, ELS Architects out of Berkeley. I jumped on the phone immediately, and was able to shoot their project too!
Lunchtime at CSULB
Photographing for the prestigious firm, AC Martin, we were sent back to school to capture one of their newly designed CSULB dining halls. The new space offers students much more than the traditional cafeteria.
Atop Cal Arts
Atop of #Gehry's Gruen Associates @CalArts E Block building, we had the opportunity to scout with Francisco Behr of #BehrBrowers Architects at their new #CalArts Generator Building! #highereducation #socialscout #socialspace #archdaily
May the Force be with you...
Often during long summer days with our clients we get some downtime to experiment and have some fun. This time, Ruhnau Ruhnau Clarke's graphic designer, Joel Barnard, brought up the idea of creating a GIF image with the camera moving around him as he floats in mid-air.
DTLA's First Barcade
From the exterior, EightyTwo LA looks like a typical downtown warehouse — a graffiti-splattered purple, blue and turquoise facade. On the inside, owners Scott and Noah have transformed this rundown space into Downtown LA's first "barcade" (a combination of a bar and a classic arcade).
