Architecture Surrounded by Artwork

Architecture Surrounded by Artwork

Lately, Ive been photographing a lot of art in architecture. Many of the teams I work with have seen the benefits of incorporating art in their designs. Being able to collaborate the capturing of art and architecture is a skill that I have honed and enjoy pursuing.  It requires knowing the needs of both the artist and the architect, as well as the requirements of the firm and builder — a great deal of teamwork understanding. Today I'll be introducing you to the large, bold red ribbons surrounding the LinkedIn offices in Sunnyvale, California. These sculptures the work of Los Angeles based artist, Jon Krawczyk.

I've known Jon for years, have photographed many of this sculptures and had the pleasure of visiting his Malibu studio. Since we began work on this project, the unfortunate circumstances of the Woolsey Fire have taken Jon's home and studio. Bu this is not where Jon's story ends!

Be sure to visit his website or follow him on Instagram as we support and encourage one another through the realities of living and working in Southern California.

Inspiring You At Work

Kilroy Realty commissioned Krawczyk to bring their property to life.  He used these metal ribbons to enhance LinkedIn's exterior, draw your attention, but not take away form the architecture of the building. What I loved most about photographing these sculptures it that every time I looked at them I discovered something new! That's what I consider to be great art! Kilroy Realty is committed to inspiring you every day you come to work and they regularly commission artist to uphold this commitment throughout their properties.

The Power of the Arts

Discovering the best places to eat while I'm on location

Amami Bistro, the best sushi restaurant on the PLANET!The head chef, Chef Alan, is amazing. He orchestrates a modern sushi fusion by pairing fish uniquely with exciting elements that aren’t otherwise explored at other places.I recommend the 10 piece Omakaze plate! It’s outstanding, with double-sized pieces and remarkable distinct flavors..
